Quilts of Love....
So we have an amazing group of quilters at my church- they call themselves 'The Dorcas Sewers" , after Dorcas from the Bible ( but we kid them sometimes and call them 'dorky sewers'- all in fun :) And they make the most amazing quilts that are sent around the world thru Lutheran World Relief. Twice a year they painstakingly spread them over all of the pews, and on Sunday we have a 'blanket blessing' for them before they get packed up and shipped in a container to their new homes- in the farthest corners of the world! It is such a beautiful sight that I just had to share it with you :) <><

I'm so glad you shared that picture! My Granny is very involved in the same kind of ministry at her church, so it's good to see what the results of such efforts look like. What a blessing they are, I'm sure. :) Hugs!
ReplyDeleteDear Sue!!! How are you? What new in your life? Hello from Russia Nika
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful sight indeed. Incredible.
ReplyDeleteThis is just glorious! Tell me more about how this works. Do members come in and sit through a service or does everyone stand around the perimeter for the event?
