advent
hey there! guess i kinda went 'awol' on my blog....sorry about that. here's my latest Advent offering at church- just took it down yesterday and put up a smaller green one....looking forward to Lent :) you can't see it very well in the photo, but the dark blue swags are actually plastic table cloths- the cheapo ones from the dollar store! they drape very nicely, and of course, cheap is often better in mass quantities :) you also can't see the small mirror tiles i glued to fishing leader, that sparkle in the light. AND the LED star on the very bottom, which was on a timer that i set to come on during the evening services. All very pretty, imho :) there's a whole lotta glittery ribbon on here too....you can always tell when i've been messing around with the centerpiece because it looks like a
glitter bomb' went off on the floor :) (and my floor at home, where i rewind the ribbons before storing them.......bonus deal! heh heh) God Bless!

Happy Fall
So, aside from needing to be a better photographer......here's my latest offering for the Sanctuary. I wanted something smaller, and while this LOOKS like it might be for Pentecost, I'm calling it "fall" :) (although most of the elements are from my Pentecost 'stash' ) It won't be too long before the Advent one goes up.....and of course I tend to go over the top on that one. Just sayin'.

God's promise
I've been wanting to do something different in the Sanctuary....in time for our Sunday School 'Rally Day' this weekend. I kept having the rainbow 'pop into' my head. I usually give the Spirit credit when that happens, 'cause why not? I know this won't be without controversy for some....it's not meant to be a 'social statement' or an ' endorsement' of anything other than the lavish love of God. The center is black, and the spectrum surrounds it. I checked with Pastor and the Worship leader before I went ahead with my idea, as they're probably the ones who will have to deal with any potential flak :) Of course they both gave great responses- like "God saw our sin and answered with a beautifully colored promise" and "what a great way to point people to God's Love"... the beauty of it all was that I already had all the materials....just stored in different liturgical boxes :) and it coordinates nicely with the wall hanging I put up a few weeks ago....see previous post :)

Colors of Joy
This beautiful wall hanging was created by one of our *senior* quilting ladies at church :) It's bounced around the place for a few years now, getting moved, put away, brought back out....etc. I hung it on the Sanctuary wall this week. Love all the colors- it definitely expresses my feelings when I play the drums for my Savior :) The brackets were a little wider than the quilt, so I added some ribbons to hide the difference. Thankful for creative gifts and talents!

"ordinary time"
so here's my latest offering for the 'season of growth' - I was seriously going to try to keep it smaller than usual, just to mix things up a bit, and leave the possibility for adding to it as we go....it's a very long season in the church year, after all! but......I just get to digging into those fabric boxes and keep pulling things out that I can't leave off!!! heh heh. Technically, it's been 'green season' for a few weeks, but we decided to wait until we started our summer worship schedule to change the mobile. The Paraments were right on time :)

Pentecost 2016
Here's my latest offering for the Sanctuary for this Pentecost Sunday ~ I took my inspiration from this Pin and of course, the Holy Spirit! Plus, I always work better with praise songs playing in the background :) I like to ponder what it must have been like on that first Pentecost-
